Tricolour and solidarity from Terre Borromeo
In these days of great trial, we all perceive a strong need to feel closer, united against a common enemy.
Thus the properties of the Borromeo Family will light up with the colours of the Italian flag to give a sign to take heart to the territory of Lake Maggiore, to the nation and beyond our borders. From Friday, March 20 tricolour light beams will colour Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Rocca di Angera on Lake Maggiore, on the day scheduled for the reopening of the locations.
“In this difficult moment for this country, the initiative to turn on the lights aims to be an occasion to open up – even if only symbolically – our museums, the Borromeo Palaces on Isola Bella and Isola Madre and the Rocca di Angera on the Lombard shore” – announces Vitaliano Borromeo. “With this gesture, we also intend to give a message of closeness and hope to all our employees and to the entire territory. The new measures to contain the Coronavirus emergency have disrupted our programmes and our expectations for development, but we must be strong and trust that the actions of responsibility that we are all taking will help Italy emerge from this adversity.”
Furthermore, SAG srl, the company that administers and manages the activities of Terre Borromeo (Isola Bella, Isola Madre, Rocca di Angera, Parco Pallavicino and Parco del Mottarone) is intervening to support the health emergency by earmarking the sum of €100,000 for the intensive care department at the Castelli Hospital in Verbania.
“Hope belongs to life, it’s life defending itself.”
